Job Title: Business Development Specialist
Job Purpose: The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for designing and executing sales strategies aimed at driving revenue growth and increasing guest visitation at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, this role involves cultivating and maintaining strategic partnerships with tourism boards, hotel partners, tour operators, and attractions. This role will expand the garden’s outreach and visibility, ensuring its position as a leading destination. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for the tourism industry, coupled with a strategic mindset.
Position Details: Permanent, Full-time. This role combines both in-office responsibilities and external engagement and will be based at The Truffles Group home office.
Compensation: Salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 per annum + bonus potential.

Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute comprehensive outbound sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and grow market share.
· Identify new business opportunities and foster existing relationships with key clients, tourism boards, hotel partners, tour operators, other attractions, online travel agencies, and transportation partners.
· Monitor industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings to identify areas for growth and innovation.
· Conduct familiarization tours for potential clients to showcase the attraction’s offerings.
· Actively promote the butterfly garden through outreach programs, events, presentations, promotions and networking.
· Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align sales strategies with advertising, promotional campaigns and branding efforts.
· Attend trade shows, community events, and industry meetings to represent the brand and grow the business network.
· Manage outbound sales initiatives in local, regional, and international markets.
· Track and analyze sales data, provide regular updates and analysis on optimization strategies and identify areas for improvement.
· Prepare sales reports, projections, and budgets, and report to leadership on performance metrics.
· Attend various trade and consumer shows.
· Occasional event support for each brand within The Truffles Group of companies.
Education, Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· 3+ years of experience in outbound sales, preferably in tourism, hospitality, or a related industry.
· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing successful sales strategies.
· Strong relationship-building and networking skills with experience working with tourism boards, hotels, tour operators, and similar partners.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
· Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and internationally as required.
· A passion for nature, wildlife conservation and sustainability.
· Familiarity with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
